Manchester United are set to save an incredible £320k a week on wages, once Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra depart in the summer, reports the Daily Star.
All three are out of contract in the summer, and club captain Vidic confirmed he will be leaving last week, with Inter Milan his most likely destination.
Vidic is on £110k a week, whilst Ferdinand earns £120k and Evra £90k.
35-year-old former England captain Ferdinand is likely to make a move to the MLS, with LA Galaxy thought to be leading the chase for his signature.
Meanwhile, 32-year-old Evra is expected to return to France, with both Paris St Germain and Monaco keen to offer him a lucrative contract.
United are set to save a staggering £16.64million a year on wages, a figure which will strengthen manager David Moyes’s hand duringt he summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Ashley Young has revealed his desire to stay at Old Trafford and become the best left winger in the country.
Young admits it has become something of an obsession for him.
“I always put everything on left side first,” he explained.
“So I put my left sock on first, my left leg into my shorts, my left boot and then my left arm into my shirt first.”
