Manchester United star Juan Mata believes the club will play entertaining football soon as they aim to turn their poor form around.

Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal has been blasted by supporters and critics for his boring style of play, especially when it has failed to secure the right results for the club.

This has seen the Dutchman come under intense pressure from the board to perform, but last Friday United showed their strength by beating Derby County 3-1 in an FA Cup clash.

And following the display, Mata is adamant that the side are once again ready to play the attractive football associated with Man United in a bid to improve on their mediocre season.

The Spaniard, as quoted by the Daily Star, said: “It hasn’t been an easy month but our victory in Derby leaves a good taste because it means a boost of energy for us.

“We move onto the next round of the FA Cup and also the team had good feelings and I think we played a good match.

“It was a very positive win with a more dynamic, fluid style that we hope to maintain from now on.

“This is a very busy month with seven games and our aim is to try to win them all, starting with Stoke, who beat us in the first half of the season.

“They have a team with many talented players who have changed the way they play football with regard to the last few seasons and it’s working well for them.

“We are looking forward to a win at Old Trafford and, from now until the end of the season, we have to be strong at home and not concede any points.”

Van Gaal’s men face Stoke City in their next Premier League encounter, with the Potters having already bea them 2-0 earlier in the campaign.

Another victory will see Stoke do their first league double over the Red Devils since the 1952-1953 season.
