Javier Hernandez is edging closer to a move to Juventus, which could pave the way for Arturo Vidal to complete his long awaited move to Manchester United, according to the Express.
Hernandez has found regular first team football hard to come by at Old Trafford in recent times, and looks set to start the season under Louis van Gaal as fourth choice behind Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck.
The Red Devils have been given a week to complete the signing of Chile midfielder Vidal, and Van Gaal has wasted no time in moving forward with the deal.
The Dutch boss hopes the move of Hernandez in the opposite direction will help smooth over Vidal’s switch, with the 27-year-old set to sign a contract worth a reported £182,000 a week.
Van Gaal remains determined to add reinforcements ahead of the new season, and has also been linked with a £50million move for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, after Paris St Germain pulled out of the race to sign him.
A new centre back is also high on United’s list of priorities, with the Red Devils set to make a £30million offer for Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels this week.
