Man United target won’t rule out Premier League move
The German star currently plays for Borussia Dortmund and will be leaving the club in the summer after refusing to sign a new contract. He has spoken of his desire for playing in the Premier League and will be keeping his options open despite the rumours that he had already agreed to join Bayern Munich in the summer, according to The Sun.
United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, has been interested in Lewandowski for some time now and even bid £17million for the striker last July, but withdrew his bid when he signed Robin van Persie instead. And with a full striker quota at Old Trafford, Fergie doesn’t have a place for Lewandowski in the team unless he sells one of his current forwards.
When Fergie dropped Wayne Rooney against Real Madrid it sparked talks that he is no longer the main man at United and that he could possibly leave the club in the summer. If he does decide to move, Lewandowski will see this as the perfect opportunity to make a name for himself in the English top flight after expressing his concerns about upsetting Dortmund fans by switching to their rivals.
Borussia Dortmund are already in the market for a replacement for Lewandowski and they are keeping tabs on Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko, whose capture could start a transfer merry-go-round including, Rooney, Lewandowski and the Citizens striker.
