Manchester City are preparing themselves for a massive £60million bid from Real Madrid to sign Sergio Aguero, Daily Star reports.
The Spanish side were keen to sign Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, but boss Carlo Ancelotti has accepted that the Uruguayan will not leave Anfield.
So the UEFA Champions League winners have turned to Man City striker Aguero as their priority transfer target this summer.
It is understood that the Madrid hierarchy are arranging a mega-money offer to make the Argentine one of the highest paid players at the club.
Aguero has become a hero at the Etihad after his record £36million move back in 2011, with his goals helping his team to two Premier League titles as well as a League Cup.
The 25-year-old was injured much of last season, but still managed 28 goals in 34 appearances.
And City boss Manuel Pellegrini will hope his star striker stays in Manchester as he plans to challenge for the UEFA Champions League next season.
However it is believed Real president Florentino Perez will wait till after the World Cup to make their offer.
Perez said: “Right now, there is no real urgency to sign any new players.
“We are not thinking about making a move for Aguero – at the moment.”
