Manchester City midfielder James Milner is currently undergoing new contract talks which will see him bag around £80,000-a-week, but he insisted instead of just the wages, he wants an increase in playing time as well, Mirror reports.
With only one year left on his current deal at the club, Manuel Pellegrini may risk losing him on a free transfer if the England international decides he should move elsewhere in search of regular football.
“Basically I want to be here – as long as I’m playing,” he said.
“I love it here and hopefully I can be here for a long time to come. But that’s determined on how much football I get.
“I just want to feel like I’m contributing. I played a fair amount last year – maybe not as many in the league as I would have liked, but I felt I have contributed to the trophies I’ve won. That’s what it’s about.”
Milner, 28, only made 12 English Premier League starts the previous season, coming off the bench an additional 19 times, scoring one goal and providing four.
