Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero believes the pressure is all on Germany ahead of the World Cup final on Sunday, as reported by FourFourTwo.

The Argentinean returned from injury just in time to come from the bench in the semi-final penalty win over the Netherlands and is pushing for a start in the final.

Germany caused a huge shock by thrashing hosts Brazil 7-1 in the other semi-final and will now go into Sunday’s showpiece as the clear favourites.

Aguero knows most fans will expect the Europeans to be triumphant but claims Argentina will still play their own game to cause a surprise.

“Germany were always the favourites, along with Brazil, to win the World Cup,” he said.

“They continue to be so now. We need to play our own game and it suits us that all the pressure is on them.

“We are in the final and we have to play it and win it in whatever way possible.”

“When you come back from an injury, it is always in the back of your mind whether it will return,” he said.

“I had to train and try to be as good as I could be. When you miss three games, especially in a World Cup, you realise what you are missing.”
