Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure could be handed a ban if the FA decide his alleged kick out at Norwich striker Ricky Van Wolskwinkel was deliberate, according to the Daily Mirror.

Toure was involved in an off the ball incident with the Norwich striker in the final minute of their 0-0 draw at Carrow Road which saw City blow their chances of going top of the table.

After defeat at home to Chelsea last week, City were frustrated again against Norwich and Toure appeared to take out that frustration on Van Wolfswinkel who stayed down.

Norwich boss Chris Hughton claimed he didn’t see the incident but expects something to be done about it as his striker is not the sort of player to react like that for nothing.

“I have not seen it but he is a strong character, Ricky. He is not one to normally complain, he generally gets on with it.

“If that was the case, then people will have seen it, but I have not as yet.”
