Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has admitted that he has spoken to Lionel Messi about coming to Manchester City, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Zabaleta is good friends with his compatriot Messi and they used to live close to each other in Barcelona when the City vice-captain played for Espanyol.

Messi will be in the Manchester this week, for the Champions League clash between City and Barcelona on Tuesday night that promises to be a classic.

Barcelona won 6-0 yesterday while City beat Chelsea in the FA Cup and Zabaleta knows it is going to be a tough game against one of his closest friends.

“Yeah, I have spoken to Leo about City,” said Zabaleta.

“When i came to City, after three or four months I went back to Barcelona because we had a couple of days off. I went to Leo’s house and everybody was talking about the new owners and the big money.

“Leo has asked me what it is like to be here.

“I would like to show him around Manchester. Maybe i could take him out to Didsbury and we could have some fish and chips. I think he would like that!”
