Manchester City Target Expected To Join Bayern
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is still hopeful to sign Borussia Dortmund ace Robert Lewandowski in the summer according to Sky Sports.
Munich were rumoured to have already made contact with fellow Bundesliga side Dortmund over the possibility of a summer deal but nothing has been confirmed by either club.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is a keen admirer of the Polish striker who impressed and scored against City in this season Champions League group stage.
However it seems the Premier League champions are not leading the race to sign the highly rated striker who has once again been on scintillating form for Dortmund this season.
Bayern have lived from the philosophy that one big name signing per season will significantly improve your side and that has paid dividends this season as they are racing clear of the Bundesliga and impressive in the Champions League.
Rummenigge may want Lewandowski to be this summer’s big deal.
“I have got to know that often one big signature gives more success than three small deals,” Rummenigge told TZ newspaper in Germany.
“Look at Manuel Neuer, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Javi Martinez.
“All of them were expensive deals, but all of them helped us a lot in just one step.”
