Manchester City to look closer to home for new striker
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini will not look at the foreign market to replace Mario Balotelli in the summer instead he will bid for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, according to the Sunday Mirror.
City are in desperate need of a striker as Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko continue to frustrate Mancini and Carlos Tevez appears out of favour once again at the Etihad.
The mega rich Blues owners are losing patience with Mancini who brought the club their first Premier League trophy last season and FA Cup the season before.
Many experts do not expect the Italian to have a job come the end of the season but the owners are already fishing out summer signings and Benteke is one of them.
City may have to bid up to £20million for the Belgian striker if Villa stay up but are likely to pounce if the Midlands club cannot avoid the drop.
