Danny Welbeck is on the brink of completing a loan move to Tottenham for a fee of £2million, according to the Metro.
The England international has been told to find a new club by new United boss Louis van Gaal, who has made it clear Welbeck does not feature in his future plans.
And it looks as though Tottenham have won the race for the versatile forward’s signature, despite interest from Arsenal, Newcastle, Hull and Sunderland.
Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add attacking reinforcements before the close of the transfer window, and Welbeck gives the option of playing as a central striker or wide in a front three.
The 23-year-old looks set to join on a season-long loan for £2million, with the option to buy at the end of the season should his spell be considered a success.
Tottenham are willing to pay the forward’s entire salary for the duration of the loan spell.
