Manchester United defender Rafael has told fans he wants to stay at Old Trafford, after his agent suggested a summer transfer might be on the cards, reports the Metro.

But his identical twin brother Fabio does look set to be on his way out of Old Trafford, after one of the clubs sponsor’s accidentally revealed he looks set to join Cardiff City on loan.

The future of both of the 23-year-old Brazilian full backs have been the subject of speculation, after their representative Cassiano Pereira admitted that summer moves were a possibility.

The agent said: ‘I don’t know anything about these stories. I think they are just journalistic speculation.’

But he added: ‘Today, I say they will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in summer it is very likely that they can leave.’

Rafael since responded to the speculation on Instagram by telling fans: ‘I’m not leaving’ #mufc’.

However, the future of twin brother Fabio is far more unclear, after verified Twitter account of Airtel – United’s telecommunications partner in India – stated the full back could not take part in a question and answer session with supporters on the site as he had agreed a move to South Wales.

The @airtelindia feed stated: ‘Unfortunately, Fabio will be joining Cardiff City on loan till the end of season & hence only Rafael will join us for #airtelAskUnited’.
