Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has hinted that he may need to revert from his 3-5-2 formation in order to build around new signing Angel Di Maria, Express reports.

Although he stated that addition of the Argentine winger will not mean United will become champions again, he did say that he may need to create a new system that can adapt to his newest £59.7million star.

“He has to adapt to our culture, our philosophy, he cannot change like that,” Van Gaal said.

“You cannot switch to another system and it works like that,” he added, again clicking his fingers.

“You have to train it, it’s a matter of time because the process needs time so we shall see if with Di Maria we have to change the system or not.”

Van Gaal has tried to implement his 3-5-2 formation which saw success at the World Cup for his Netherland squad to Old Trafford, but may now need to revert to something more fitting, not only for Di Maria, but Juan Mata, Robin van Persie, and Wayne Rooney as well.

Still think Utd are going to struggle against Burnley, they’ll start to come to life after international break
Just need to bring in centre half and holding midfielder to fill the gaps.
