Manchester United look to put the David Moyes saga behind them as they set their sights on the upcoming transfer window, with unsettled Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani their prime target, according to Daily Star.
Reports claim that United representatives were sent to hold talks with Cavani in France regarding the Uruguayan star, who seems to be unable to step out of the shadow of teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, it was believed that the PSG striker did not want a move to Manchester due to the clubs recent decline in form as well as their exclusion from the Champions League.
But with the recent news of Moyes’ sack, the Red Devils board believe that this could overturn Cavani’s decision to join the club who are now looking to once again be a force in Europe.
Since Cavani’s £40m move from Napoli, PSG coach Laurent Blanc has been playing him out of position causing the striker to be unsettled and is looking for a club that would prefer to deploy him as a central striker.
