Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has held talks with Napoli over a possible transfer this summer, Express reports.
Napoli have recently been linked with the United flop as reports from Italy claim that Napoli chief Riccardo Bigon flew to Brussels to negotiate on a loan move.
The 26-year-old Belgium international had a torrid time at Old Trafford last season, with fans willing to let the him leave for half the £27million then manager David Moyes used to bring him from Everton.
Louis van Gaal has reportedly labelled Fellaini as not being a ‘United type of player’, which has fuelled speculation of his departure.
The £28million signing of Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera could also push Fellaini down the pecking order behind Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, and even Anderson.
Albeit Fellaini’s poor previous campaign, the former Everton star was picked to represent Belgium in the FIFA World Cup, starting four games and scoring one goal.
But his impressive showing in Brazil hasn’t convinced Van Gaal, with a loan move possibly the best option for both club and player.
