David Beckham has given some hints that he might return to playing football, most probably for his new Miami MLS franchise, despite announcing his retirement back in 2013, The Guardian reports.
The England legend previously completed a one year deal at Paris Saint-Germain, winning the Ligue-1 trophy before calling it quits on his footballing career and has now come out to say that ever since the decision, he had “a tough time”.
He was recently part of a BBC documentary titled ‘David Beckham: Into the Unknown’ where he also added that he went through “a stage of enjoying the rest” but now began to feel the urge to return to playing.
The former Manchester United number seven also added: “Now I go to watch a basketball game and, when you are watching athletes play at the top of their game, for me it gives me that itch again and I want to be back in the game then and I start thinking to myself: ‘Could I play again? Could I go back? Could I come out of retirement and start playing again?”’
Beckham, 39, is also in the process of launching his own Major League Soccer club in Miami as he is also deciding on the chance to feature for his new team.
“There’s never been a player-owner but maybe?”
