Manchester United have found themselves linked with a move for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye, in the wake of their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday, reports talkSPORT.

David Moyes side came under fire once again for another limp Premier League performance, where once again the champions midfield looked lacking of quality and ideas.

Moyes is desperate to add midfield reinforcements this month, but has so far been unable to bring in his desired targets.

The United boss missed out on a host of targets in the summer, with Thiago Alcantara, Cesc Fabregas and Anders Herrera all rejecting a move to Old Trafford.

This month has been a similar story, with no new players bought in, and top target Koke signing a new deal with Atletico Madrid.

This has bought about speculation Moyes could make a move to hijack Paris St Germain’s bid for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The French club are trying to sign the midfielder for £24m this month, but they now may face competition from the Premier League champions.

Cabaye has one of the standout players for Newcastle this season, and showed United fans what he could do at close quarters earlier this season, firing the winner at Old Trafford in December.
