David Moyes is thought to be considering a shock swoop for Tottenham and England winger Andros Townsend, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Manchester United boss is understood to be a keen admirer of the 22-year-old, having tried to sign Townsend on loan last season whilst in charge of Everton.
The Scot had also listed Townsend as a possible summer target for the Toffees, before landing the Manchester United job.
Townsend has gone from strength to strength since, impressing for both club and country this season.
A source told The Sun: “Andros was one of Everton’s summer targets before Moyes left.
“And the impact Andros has had in the first half of this season — establishing himself at Spurs and making an instant impact for England — has not gone unnoticed.
“There is a view that he is seen as a longer-term replacement for the likes of Antonio Valencia and Nani on United’s flanks.”
Moyes will have to wait until the summer to make his move however, with Tottenham considering the winger a big part of their plans.
Townsend was valued at £8million last summer, but his price could sky rocket by the time the summer comes around, dependent on his World Cup performances.
