Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso is set to leave the Italian club when his contract expires next month, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Argentinean international was hoping to be offered a new deal in Milan but the club have decided against it, meaning the 33 year old can leave on a free.
Manchester United have been long term admirers of Cambiasso and are set to pounce for this cut price deal, with their midfield looking weak last season.
Incoming boss Louis van Gaal will have funds to spend this summer but not as much as David Moyes had to play with, so this cheap deal is set to be something that the Dutchman is interested in.
“Cambiasso will not renew his contract because we haven’t offered him a renewal,” said Inter’s technical director Piero Ausilio.
“He waited for our decision until now, and for that he must be thanked, but I’m convinced that in his future he’ll have a role at Inter.”
