Portuguese side Benfica are set to hold talks with winger Nicolas Gaitan over their decision to either sell or keep their main man, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Portuguese league leaders knew they were going to lose at least one key man in January with demand for their talent so high and they sold midfielder Nemanja Matic to Chelsea last week for a deal in excess of £21million.
Manchester United are keen to take the 25 year old to England but the sale of Matic could mean Gaitan will stay at Benfica.
The winger is doing all he can to break into the Argentina squad ahead of the World Cup next summer and playing a bit-part role in the Premier League is not an option for him.
After seeing the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Nani and Ashley Young fall from grace since the summer under David Moyes, Gaitan is determined not to follow suit.
Striker Oscar Cardozo is also a target of Premier League clubs but Benfica are set to talk with both men in order to persuade them to stay until at least the summer.
