Manchester United could reignite their interest in Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Gaurin, after being rocked by the news Michael Carrick could miss up to a month of the season with ankle ligament damage, according to the Telegraph.
With Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie already struggling to return to full fitness, the injury to Carrick has forced Moyes to consider midfield reinforcements before the close of the transfer window next week.
The England midfielder is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks, after injuring his ankle in the Capital One Cup semi final defeat to Sunderland on Wednesday.
He is set t miss the Premier League clash at Arsenal on February 12, and could also miss the Champions League last 16 first-leg tie with Olympiakos just 13 days later.
Carrick only just recently returned from a six-week absence, after receiving surgery on an Achilles tendon problem.
Moyes may now reignite his interest in Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Gaurin, with the Italian’s willing to strike a deal that would involve Javier Hernandez moving in the opposite direction.
Hernandez is keen to move this month in order to get regular first team football, so a possible swap deal appears a genuine possibility.
Meanwhile, £27.5million summer signing Maraoune Fellaini is targeting the trip to Stoke on February 1st to make his comeback from a wrist injury.
