Rio Ferdinand, whose contract runs out at the end of the campaign, decided not to ask for a new offer as he is now ready to make a decision regarding his future in a few days time.
The Manchester United star had not been offered a new contract after the final game of the season and is looking likely to end his 12 year career at Old Trafford, but upon becoming a free agent, he has already gained interest from a majority of clubs.
Major League Soccer teams, including that of LA Galaxy, are rumoured to be chasing the experienced United man while he has also grabbed attentions of Turkish sides Besiktas and Galatasaray.
There were also shocking reports that Arsenal wanted to sign the former West Ham and Leeds player just last month, but the Gunners have not followed up on a potential deal.
Ferdinand told Sky Sports: “In the coming days I will start to think about my next step and make a decision on what will happen.
“I haven’t had much time to do that yet since the season ended. I’ve been able to get away from the hype and enjoy my time.”
