The Merseyside pair have both sent scouts to the Proact Stadium on numerous occasions this season and may have seen Darikawa show the form that landed him the League Two Young Player of the Month award in December.
The 21-year-old only signed a new three year deal at the club in November but the Reds and the Toffees are set to tempt the Spireites with £2million bids.
Aston Villa signed another of Chesterfield’s exciting academy products in the summer in Jordan Bowery and it appears the League Two club may be raided once again in this transfer window.
Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner has praised the youngsters form this season but has admitted that while Premier League clubs are tracking him it would be unfair to rule out a move this month.
“Tendayi is a fantastic talent and we would never stand in the way of a player from moving to a Premier League club,” Turner told talkSPORT.
“A lot of top clubs have been tracking him for quite a while and it is no surprise – Tendayi is a player with exceptional potential who deserves to play at the very top.”
