Napoli have agreed to sign Manchester United flop Marouane Fellaini on a season-long loan, Express reports.
According to Italian news publication Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have struck a £4million deal to bring Fellaini to play in the Serie A for at least a season.
Head coach Rafael Benitez wasn’t keen to pay the large transfer fee put on Fellaini by Man United, indicating he preferred a loan move for the powerful Belgian.
Benitez has been in the market for a midfielder of Fellaini’s ilk, and will be extremely satisfied to sign the former Everton ace at a modest price.
Napoli are still allowed to register one additional player into their UEFA Champions League roster, and it seems they are waiting on Fellaini to be their last entry.
The 26-year-old midfielder had a torrid time in Manchester last season, not fulfilling his massive £27.5million price tag due to injuries and poor form.
Now under new coach Luis van Gaal, Fellaini has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and is close to making a switch to the Italian Serie A.
