Former Manchester United star Danny Welbeck expressed his delight on his move to Arsenal as he looks to help them win the English Premier League title this season, Express reports.
The England international rose through the United ranks, having joined them at an early age of eight, but the 23-year-old is not looking to the past as he aims for future success with his new club.
“The style of play the manager’s got, the boys play, and with the magnificent players in midfield slotting balls through, I can run on to the end of those balls and slot them away.
“I’d like to bring pace and power to the game. At Arsenal, we’re not short of combination football and I like to join in on that and get in behind defenders and try to get shots off at goal. I want to score some goals and help the team to achieve the right results.”
Welbeck picked up a Premier League medal whist at Old Trafford and is relishing the opportunity to add to his tally upon his switch to the Emirates.
“I feel like it’s time where we could really push on and try and challenge for the Premier League title,” he told Arsenal’s official website.
“They’ve done well in recent years and last year we got the FA Cup. I’ve got one medal and it’s something that I really want to add to.”
