Newcastle boss Alan Pardew claims the club will not be signing Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha on loan in January, reports the Daily Mirror.
Zaha had been widely tipped to join the Magpies on loan for the second half of the season, after a difficult introduction to life at Old Trafford.
The winger joined United almost 12 months ago in a £15million move, and was straight away sent back to Crystal Palace on loan for the second half of last season.
The England Under-21 man showed why United had paid big money to sign him with a series of impressive performances for the Eagles, in a season which ended in promotion via the play offs.
However, he has been out of favour since making the permanent switch to Old Trafford, and is yet to start a Premier League game under David Moyes.
A loan move in January has been suggested to help Zaha recapture the form that saw him labelled as one of the countries brightest young talents, but Pardew insists it won’t be at Newcastle, suggesting that perhaps a return to former club Palace is his best option.
The Toon boss said: “He was phenomenal when they got promoted last season, but his career has maybe stalled a little. Maybe he’ll get an opportunity there.”
Crystal Palace remain keen to resign the youngster on loan when the transfer window reopens in January.
