Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has no worries in handing over the reins to assistant boss John Carver against Fulham today, as reported by the Evening Chronicle.

Pardew is facing a seven game suspension, three of those a stadium ban, starting today at Craven Cottage for his headbutt on David Meyler at Hull City two weeks ago.

The former West Ham and Southampton manager was also handed a hefty fine from both Newcastle and the FA for his actions, which Pardew has admitted and apologised for.

John Carver will take control of the side in his absence, and Pardew has no worries at all in letting his no.2 have the say on the game plan and tactics.

“John has been caretaker before. He has vast experience and he knows our fans inside and out.

“He knows what they expect and I expect him to deliver it here.

“I do know that a game plan is in place, we all know it, John Carver knows it inside out and I have 100% trust in him.”
