Newcastle United could attempt to lure Loic Remy on another loan spell to the club after he reportedly failed his Liverpool medical, according to Mirror.
Having already agreed personal terms with the striker, Brendan Rodgers made a decision to pull the plug on the deal as the Magpies could make the swoop instead.
Alan Pardew got the best of Remy the previous season as he saw the French attacker net 14 goals in 24 starts for his side and could once again call upon his services.
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp revealed that he could even keep the player at the club, having recently gained promotion into the English Premier League.
He hopes the 27-year-old forward can replicate his Newcastle form once again for his side in bids to keep them from getting relegated once again.
Rodgers also gave a statement regarding the breakdown towards his potential switch to Anfield.
“We have made a decision, as a club, not to go ahead with the deal.
“It’s unfortunate for the player. We are disappointed for the player. But these things happen.
“It’s happened before and there’s nothing more to be said and we will move on and look at other targets.”
