Ben Arfa has sat out of the Magpies last three games following a hamstring problem. Alan Pardew is keen to bring the forward’s creativity and flair back into the side.
The Frenchman won’t be available to face Bordeaux in Thursday’s Europa League clash but is hoping to make the trip to Craven Cottage.
His Manager believes he will make his comeback on Monday and is hoping that the 25 year old can add to his tally of 2 league goals so far this season.
Last season the forward managed to secure a consolation goal as Newcastle got beaten 5-2 at Craven Cottage, and he will be hoping to get on the scoresheet again this time round.
“He won’t have a chance for Bordeaux, but we think he’ll have a chance for Fulham,” Pardew told the Shields Gazette.
Ben Arfa has been one of the few bright players in Newcastle’s season so far and with the club securing a win last night following 4 successive defeats, it will be hoped that he can continue the Toon revival of form.
Pardew’s squad has been decimated by injuries so far this term it is also hoped that fellow French winger Gabriel Obertan will also be available to play in their next Premier League clash against Fulham.
The manager has been keen to add some more pace and attacking impetus in the side so the return of Obertan will be a boost.
“We think Obertan might have a chance for Fulham too,” added Pardew.
