Mauricio Pochettino is already aiming to make his first signing as Tottenham manager by targeting Mattia Destro from Roma with a reported £14 million offer, according to Metro.
The newly appointed manager was given some funds to build a squad that would fit his style of play and the Argentinian is already aiming to bring in younger players, something that was seen during his time at Southampton.
Destro scored 13 goals in 20 matches for the Serie A club and his good form has also been rewarded a place in Brazil with the Italian national team.
The 23-year-old striker has caught the attention of Pochettino, who was already monitoring the player during his time with the Saints, due to his lethal finishing and ability to start creative plays.
Since his move to White Hart Lane, it is believed that he will still be targeting the likes of the young Italian as part of his team overhaul, and could be brought over to England with an offer of about £15 million despite Destro’s agent recently revealing his intentions to stay.
