Nigeria’s Michel Babatunde recently admitted to being interested in a potential move to Sunderland, making them favourites to sign him, Daily Star reports.
The 21-year-old midfielder is currently playing for Volyn Lutsk and was in great form at the start of the World Cup before breaking his wrist via a shot from his team mate in the match against Argentina.
Babatunde revealed that there were many offers for him, but is considering a move to the English Premier League over other destinations.
He said: “I have received several offers from different places, but I’m interested in the one from Sunderland.
“They have contacted my agent and we will see how it goes from there.
“There are about two offers from clubs in Turkey as well, which are both under consideration and will be discussed at the right time.
“I’m probably going to leave Volyn. We have to discuss the offers, but it’s most likely I will be leaving this summer.”
