Northern Ireland have drawn 1-1 with European minnows Luxembourg in Belfast on Tuesday night.
The hosts were looking to make amends after losing their first World Cup qualifier to Russia, and took the lead through a Dean Shields strike in the first-half.
The home side looked to be heading for a slender victory, but Daniel da Mota’s deflected effort from close range in the 86th minute denied them all three points.
Northern Ireland coach Michael O’Neill admitted after the game that he was disappointed not to record a win.
“I am very disappointed,” O’Neill told Sky Sports.
“We had enough chances to win. In the second half we let our standards drop. Our energy levels dropped too.
“The game was disrupted by offside calls. There were too many free-kicks and too many disruptions,” he concluded.
