Ricky van Wolfswinkel says Norwich City intends to sign two new wingers and an attacking midfielder this summer.

The club record signing from Sporting Club, in an interview with Dutch football magazine VI, explained his decision to leave one of the top clubs in Portugal for Carrow Road.

He revealed that Canaries boss Chris Hughton impressed him when he visited the club, and the transfer plans he was told about show a clear ambition to take the club to the next level.

"I see the transition from the Portuguese Super Liga to the Premier League as a great step forward," he said.

"The intention is that the club will also sign an attacking midfielder and two wide players in the coming months."

Norwich were linked to QPR winger Jamie Mackie in the January transfer window and he could again be a target in the summer - particularly if Harry Redknapp's side are relegated.

Van Wolfswinkel added, "I recently went to see things for three days in Norwich and the conversations I had with the manager and what the technical director claimed were decisive."
