Norwich City have completed the signing of former Everton defender Joseph Yobo from Turkish club Fernerbahce, according to the Daily Star.

The 33-year-old is set to join the Canaries on loan until the end of the season, with manager Chris Hughton keen to add defensive reinforcements, with Michael Turner still out injured.

The Nigerian captain returns to the Premier League having spent three-and-a-half years in the Turkish capital.

Hughton confirmed the signing on the clubs official website saying: ”

As most know we’ve got a problem with Michael Turner, who’s got a hamstring pull which will continue to keep him out for a fair amount of time, so it’s an area we needed to fill.

“Of course what Joseph is about is that he’s someone who knows this division very well, and has great experience.”

Yobo made over 250 appearances for Everton during eight years in England, during the reign of David Moyes.

Since leaving Goodison Park in 2010, Yobo managed over 100 appearances for Fernerbahce, scoring two goals.
