About a month ago, Yaya Toure accused his club of forgetting his birthday and may now have another reason to leave Manchester City as Paris Saint-Germain monitor his situation, Mirror reports.
Toure is unhappy at the side after they rejected his request to leave a few days earlier from their season-end trip to Abu Dhabi in order to spend time with his brother who is suffering with cancer.
His brother, Ibrahim Toure, eventually lost the battle against the disease with the midfielder unable to be beside him.
“At the end of the season, I wanted to stay for four or five days with my brother before I flew to prepare for the World Cup with Ivory Coast,” he said. “Except that City did not want to give me a few days.
“I went to celebrate the title championship in Abu Dhabi while my brother was in his sickbed. By fortune, Kolo (another brother) was at his bedside.
“I blame myself for not insisting and for not leading them to respect me. However, club officials knew that I had been suffering for a few months, seeing the health of my brother decline.”
Toure was also heard stating that he would be ‘honoured’ to be part of the PSG set-up.
