Pedro has given an indication as to how Chelsea striker Diego Costa is feeling after his recent exile from the team.

The Spain international was dropped from the squad that claimed a 3-0 win over Leicester City a fortnight ago.

The club claimed that it was due to a back issue, but there were rumours that an alleged training ground bust-up with manager Antonio Conte and a fitness coach led to the snub.

The Guardian reported that Costa and Conte clashed after the striker had his head turned by lucrative offers from the Chinese Super League.

The furore surrounding the 28-year-old has since eased, and after Conte told reporters that Costa is happy at the club, he was back in the fold for last weekend's match against Hull City.

The striker marked his return to the team with a late first-half goal, and now Pedro has revealed that Costa is fully focused on Chelsea.

The Daily Star quotes Pedro as saying:

“With the team, he has been training very well. He is very happy to be here in the club, this is the most important thing.

“His focus in the team, the game, this season to fight for this title. It’s good for the team. This ambition Diego shows is good for the team.”
