Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that individual errors are ‘killing’ his team.

The North London side are still searching for their first win of the new season, with a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United being followed by draws against Stoke and Leicester.

The Tottenham fans have been disappointed with the relinquishing of leads in the last two games, with both the Potters and Foxes coming from behind to get a point.

With Spurs set to face Everton this weekend in what will be an exciting clash, the Argentine trainer has deplored his team to stamp out the individual mistakes.

“It is true that individual errors are killing us,” Pochettino is quoted as saying by The Guardian.

“If we have two points after three games, it is not because we have a lack of players or we don’t sign one striker or one goalkeeper, it is because we make some mistakes, like at Leicester or Stoke, after we were 2-0 up.

“This is not about signing a player, this is about competing much better and this is our focus now – to compete.

“The players will agree with me, which is good. We lost two points at Leicester. Come on, we scored and then we switched off. Never in football can you switch off for one second.

“The opponent can score or we can concede a chance if they deserve to but not because we give them possibilities, like Leicester, like Manchester United, like Stoke.

“You need to be strong, focused and never switch off. I am optimistic about the future. If we add some real quality players, I think our balance is better and if we only fix [the errors], it will be a great season.”

Spurs have lofty ambitions this season, with the White Hart Lane side hoping to qualify for next term’s Champions League and get back amongst English football’s elite.

The North Londoners have completed the signature of highly rated South Korean forward Heung-min Son and are expected to still try and bolster their squad further before the transfer window closes.
