Louis van Gaal is currently the prime candidate to be named the future manager of Manchester United and according to Daily Star, the Dutchman is believed to already be planning his summer transfers for the club.
Like former manager David Moyes, van Gaal is also placing Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos as his number one target alongside Roma’s Kevin Strootman as he looks to restore strength into the club by adding a few more midfielders.
Naming the likes of Kroos and Strootman as prime targets support the claim that United have a weak midfield and improvement in this area is the club’s main objective.
The current manager of the Dutch national team has already begun making plans for the future by announcing that United’s interim manager Ryan Giggs will have have a place in his coaching team as well as molding him to be his successor.
The Red Devils have yet to confirm appointment of van Gaal, or any other manager, as they are still keeping their options open with Tottenham Hotspur still hoping to land the former Bayern Munich boss.
The 62-year-old is the current favorite to take over from David Moyes, with a long list of high profile managers such as Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich’s Pep Gaurdiola, Paris Saint Germain’s Laurent Blanc, and even current interim manager Ryan Giggs all being potential candidates.
