Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has told any suitors for striker Edinson Cavani that they will have spend big to lure the club into a sale, according to Sky Sports.
De Laurentiis doesn’t look content to accept any offer below the Uruguayan striker’s reported £53million buyout clause that was inserted into his contract last year.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is looking to shake up his attacking options at the Etihad this summer after a disappointing season and Cavani has been touted as his number one choice to arrive before the start of next season.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to back the Blues’ new manager with excessive funds to put the West London club back in the title race and Cavani, along with Radamel Falcao are the sort of strikers that would suit the club.
De Laurentiis has said that he has put a ‘really high cost’ on his main man ahead of this summer.
“I put a really high cost on it, because I do not want to see it (Cavani leave),” De Laurentiis wrote on Twitter.
“And I put it (the cost) with the agreement of players.”
