Former Inter Milan star Esteban Cambiasso has turned down the chance to stay in Italy, with a move to England looking likely, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Argentinean international was at Inter for ten years until he was released at the end of last season and is now looking for a new club.
Numerous offers have come through from Italy, with Cambiasso turning down the chance to join improving Sampdoria this week.
West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle are all interested in taking the 33-year-old on and moves could be made this week as pre-season is underway.
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has revealed that Cambiasso will not be staying in Italy as playing against his beloved Inter would be too hard, leaving his switch to England open.
“I’ve contacted Cambiasso, but he won’t play again in Italy to avoid betraying Inter,” Ferrero told Gazzetta dello Sport.
Cambiasso is likely to decide his future sooner rather than later as the countdown to the new season continues.
