Manchester United have made an offer to Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, Express reports.
Cavani’s suffered during his time in Paris playing second-fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but is also worried the same could happen with Robin van Persie at Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan striker is mooted to be looking for a move away from the Parc de Princes, with reports claiming that the Red Devils made an offer for former Napoli man.
But Cavani does not want a repeat of the situation he is currently facing at PSG, and is demanding that he becomes the club’s first choice striker.
Robin van Persie is United’s main man and with Louis van Gaal – currently managing the Dutch national side – at the Red Devils helm next season, Cavani is concerned he becomes an alternative to the former Arsenal captain.
At first it was thought that Man United stalled negotiations as Cavani was asking for £300,000 a week, but it is now believed that providing the Uruguayan with regular playing time could be a much bigger obstacle.
Cavani scored 25 goals in all competitions last season despite being second-choice to Ibrahimovic.
