Memphis Depay is believed to have told his agent that he wants to join Manchester United and with Louis van Gaal already monitoring the Dutch starlet, it could serve as a huge boost, Daily Star reports.
The PSV Eindhoven winger is said to be open to a Old Trafford move and despite United boasting a long list of wide players, the newly appointed boss is still keen on the 20-year-old.
However, the player’s agent, Kees Ploegsma, remained brief about a potential deal by saying: “Memphis should just concentrate on the World Cup to show what progress he has made. Then we’ll see.”
Van Gaal currently in charge of the Dutch national team and has named Depay in his squad, having the chance to closely monitor his playing style and could soon make an offer for the £15 million rated youngster.
He has had a great season with his current club scoring 13 times and even though the Red Devils will miss out on European football, they are still in pole position to secure his services for next season.
