Queens Park Rangers are hoping to secure a deal for Everton striker Nikica Jelavic this month, as reported by Sky Sports News.

Jelavic has failed to make much of an impact on Merseyside this season with Romelu Lukaku taking over the role of first choice striker, however the Croatian striker did score twice in yesterday’s 4-0 win over QPR in the FA Cup.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp was unusually shy when talking about other teams players but assistant manager Kevin Bond had clearly been handed the script, declaring his interest in the striker.

The 28 year old has been linked with moves to West Ham, Stoke and Valencia in recent weeks but the Championship may be his destination with QPR looking to spend big again in order to get into the top two and make an instant return to the Premier League.

“If you read the papers, he would appear to be on our radar,” Bond said.

“I can’t say but it would be fair to say that the manager is looking for some striking options.”
