Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in Inter Milan striker Ishak Belfodil, as reported by Sky Sports.
Rangers are desperate to add a striker to their squad this month with Charlie Austin having to take the brunt of the goal pressure.
West Ham have already shown an interest in Belfodil this month as they look to bring in a forward on loan to ease their own striker crisis.
Redknapp is hopeful of concluding a deal for the Algerian international early next week with the 22 year old very much on the outskirts of the Inter squad having only featured seven times this season, without scoring.
West Ham appear to have given up hope on signing the physical striker and Redknapp has admitted that discussions between the player and club are underway.
“He’s a player again, that has been linked with West Ham as well,” Redknapp said.
“He’s a player we were interested in, but I’m not sure where it’s at, at the moment, I’m not certain where that situation’s gone as the chairman was dealing with it.”
