Reading's search for a Premier League win continues after a goalless draw with Norwich at the Madjeski Stadium.

The Royals have now gone 10 games without victory since winning promotion and were left to rue a succession of missed chances that could have secured their first maximum point haul of the season.

Chris Hughton's men, on the other hand, have improved following a slow start to the campaign and picked up their first away clean sheet in 39 top-flight games to earn a share of the spoils and lift themselves five points above the dropzone.

The hosts made much of the early running but Garath McCleary's well struck effort from range was beaten away by John Ruddy in the Canaries goal.

But apart from that the first half was an event free zone for both goalkeepers with Kaspars Gorkss heading over for Brian McDermott's side before Robert Snodgrass did the same at the other end for the visitors.

Sean Morrison headed wide for Reading after the break as they sought to find a way through a steadfast Norwich rearguard. Jobi McAnuff was the next to try his hand but could only strike over after cutting inside before Jimmy Kebe's right wing cross bounced off the crossbar.

The away side looked more than content to take a point back to East Anglia but could have went home with all three had Grant Holt managed to convert one of his two headed chances late in the game.
