Real Madrid are believed to be in talks with Toni Kroos over a potential switch to Spain and is reported to have already tabled a contract offer, Daily Star reports.
Sources out of Germany stated that the Champions League winners have offered the Bayern Munich midfielder a deal that if accepted, would earn Kroos £4 million-a-year after tax.
Contract negotiations between the German star and his club have stalled, as the midfielder looks to have turned down a £3.25 million-a-year before tax offer.
This can be seen as a huge blow to Louis van Gaal and Manchester United’s bid to try to lure the 24-year-old to Old Trafford, after reportedly being a top target for the English team.
Carlo Ancelotti wants to add more world class players to his already strong side in hopes of trying to win all their major tournaments in the upcoming season after finishing third in the Spanish La Liga, despite winning the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
However, Kroos seemed to play down any speculation linking him with a move away from Germany, but also putting a huge dent in a possible switch to the Red Devils.
He said: “I am expecting to play for Bayern Munich next season,”
“There was a lot of speculation, but Manchester is and was not an issue.”
