Real Madrid’s concerns over main man Cristiano Ronaldo’s fitness could see them make a move for Liverpool’s rising star Raheem Sterling, that’s according to the Sunday Mirror.
The Champions League winners are worried about the tendonitis knee problem that clearly affected the Portugal international’s World Cup and are hoping to push through a deal for Sterling this summer.
Sterling capped off a fine season with Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool by earning a starting place in England’s opening two Group D matches, where he particularly impressed in the Three Lions’ 2-1 defeat against Italy.
Although the La Liga giants remain interested in Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, they are ready to offer around £25million for the 19-year-old. However, the Merseyside club holds all the cards with three-years still to run on Sterling’s contract and they can now finally offer Champions League football again.
