Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez is set to leave Real Madrid, with Chelsea interested in his services, Marca reports.
According to the Spanish newspaper, the Madrid club will offload Lopez this summer after the imminent signing of Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas from Levante.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with club captain Iker Casillas, but the European champions are keen to keep hold of their number one shot-stopper, making Lopez available.
With the return of Thibaut Courtois to Chelsea, manager Jose Mourinho could lose Petr Cech to Paris Saint-Germain and is keeping a close eye on Lopez as competition for the Belgian.
Monaco have also mooted interest in the Real Madrid ace, after their attempts to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes broke down earlier in the transfer window.
Real are however claiming that they are extremely “grateful for Lopez’s hard work and professionalism, and will do everything to make his exit as painless as possible.”
The 32-year-old Spaniard made 36 league appearances for Real Madrid last season.
