Ex-Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has admitted that Luis Suarez could well make the move to Spain this summer, as reported by talkSPORT.
Suarez underwent knee surgery yesterday and is a doubt for the World Cup this summer, which would be a huge blow for Uruguay who are in England’s group.
The Liverpool man won the Premier League player of the year award this season after finishing as the top goalscorer with the Reds finishing in second place behind Manchester City.
Calderon has admitted that Karim Benzema did not score enough goals this season and that Suarez could be at the top of Real’s summer shopping list.
“Karim Benzema is a good player but it’s true he didn’t score as many goals as people thought [he should],” Calderon told talkSPORT.
“Luis Suarez, no doubt, is one of the best players in the world and he’s had a fantastic season with Liverpool, so you never know [if Real Madrid will bid for him].
“With Real Madrid you can expect anything.”
